SaaS Product for Facility Managers

Right now, we're expanding a facility management product primarily tailored for the education sector. Our existing tools and upcoming additions mostly rely on lists, data tables, and cards for user interaction. Recently, I introduced a map view feature, providing managers with an alternative perspective on facility management. I'm convinced that a navigational and physical interface better suits the interactive nature of their work. Visualizing facility management in a more natural, spatial manner, rather than through lists and text, feels more intuitive to users.

Managers begin with an overview of all their facilities. To the right, there are cards offering quick insights into each campus. Clickable icons on the map display facility names, allowing users to delve into specific campuses.

Emergency response is a crucial aspect of facility management. Urgent work orders, such as those requiring immediate attention, trigger alerts on the map icon and its corresponding card, providing instant information.

Furthermore, they can view their facilities in multiple ways.

From this point, a manager has several options. They can assign the work order, open a detailed view of the work order by clicking on the card, or navigate to the campus view for a more comprehensive assessment.

In the campus view, managers gain insights into the emergency's location, nearby technicians who can respond, and various other details such as scheduled events, upcoming work orders, and sustainability opportunities within their assets. Users can also customize the view by filtering to prioritize relevant information. Icons on the map can be hovered over for a quick overview or clicked to access a side sheet with additional information and functionality.

Managers have the ability to transition from a campus-wide view to a more detailed exploration of specific areas within the facility. For instance, they can select the gym and access a calendar displaying events, upcoming maintenance tasks, and other relevant information.

Asset management is a crucial aspect of their role. In this section, managers can view assets linked to sensors that provide real-time data. They can search for specific assets or click to delve deeper into their details. While this feature, particularly the page below, is still in the design phase, it has been prioritized in the roadmap to advance from the conceptual stage and into development.
